Senior Citizen Travel Medical Insurance Plans
eGlobalHealth Insurers Agency recommends for eligible USA resident senior citizens that are traveling from a few days, weeks, months or up to one year.... review the HTH Travel GAP SingleTrip travel medical insurance plan. The plan is available initially up to 180 days but can be renewed if still abroad for one additional period of up to another 180 days of travel (totaling one year of coverage). Coverage up to age 84.
There are two versions available to meet your international traveling needs:
- Travel GAP Voyager -- basic coverage that will not cover a pre-existing condition and does NOT require that you have any base health insurance to apply
- Travel GAP Excursion -- the expanded benefit plan that does provide for pre-existing medical coverage ONLY IF you are covered under a USA primary health plan like an individual or group private plan or Medicare.
The Travel GAP plans are true illness/ accident medical insurance and not a trip insurance plan with low limits of coverage that only cover emergencies. The insurer is HM Insurance, a strong A rated USA Insurance carrier. Should you require a trip cancellation type plan to protect monetary costs of your trip, we recommend the TripProtector plan from HTH.

Inbound (to USA) Senior Travel Medical Plans
If you are a non-US resident coming inbound to visit inside the USA, it is highly recommended that you have travel health or medical insurance for illness and accidents. Medical insurance costs are quite high within the USA and costs incurred for unexpected illness or accident while visiting family back in the USA can leave a great burden on your family.
eGlobalHealth Insurers recommends the Inbound Guest or Inbound Immigrant plans from Seven Corners. The Inbound Guest short term medical plan is underwritten by Lloyds London and provides coverage up to 99 years of age. The Inbound Immigrant is a longer term plan that is underwritten by Chartis, an American insurance carrier, A rated.
For those inbound visitors to the USA that are looking to be permanent residents of the USA and immigrate long term AND require Medicare-like coverages with guaranteed renewable major medical insurance for atleast 5 years, we highly recommend reviewing the Bridge Plan.
